My expectations of the crookedest street in the world, Lombard Street in San Francisco, were that when I’d see it I’ve had to say something “UAUUUU ……” and instead ..
When I’ve been in San Francisco and I saw that street my thought was “…is this one?..”Before every travel I search what I have absolutely to see and in this case I’ve found some amazing post reviews with titles like “This is the most incredible street in the world”.. And I couldn’t miss it!
Lombard Street in San Francisco is located at the beginning of Presidio Boulevard in Presidios park and it goes along Cow Hollow. This street has eight hairpin bend that they’ve given the recognition of “the most crooked street in the world”. Lombard Street is accessible only downhill and beside there’s a sidewalk to get thought by walk. The speed limit is 8 km/h (5 mph).
Personally it was a real delusion because it isn’t anything special, probably who remains so entranced by Lombard Street never tried a stretch of road in the mountains. In any case I admire how Americans have managed to transform a piece of road with eight hairpin bends in a tourist attraction! Really great job!
